Concerts at Hindhead

I’m delighted to be giving the first concert in the Autumn series of recitals at the Hindhead Music Centre, with its elegant recital room and gorgeous Steinway, on Sunday 9th October at 4pm. My programme includes the seven pieces from Liszt’s Années de Pèlerinage -Italie which I have recently recorded , as well as works by Beethoven, Chopin/Liszt, Mendelssohn, Alkan, Debussy and Thomas Hewitt Jones. Future recitals featuring Liszt include James Lisney performing pieces from Liszt’s Harmonies poétiques et religieuses, Karl Lutchmayer performing Liszt’s transcriptions of works by Saint-Saens and Berlioz plus Aux cyprès de la Villa d’Este from the Années III and Totentanz, and Peter Donohoe performing Liszt’s Années de Pèlerinage – Suisse. James is joined by soprano Lorna Anderson in songs by Schubert, and there is chamber music from violinist Paul Barritt and cellist Josephine Horder. Full concert programmes are here .
